I had the happy privilege of meeting one of Segundo's crew members this evening over coffee. George E. Moore served aboard Segundo in '45.
I'm a Cold War Air Force type myself, but I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Mr. Moore discuss his wartime service and his pride in his boat.
Thanks to you all for a job well done.

I am also the "grandson" that did the artwork for the New Jersey Gudgeon Chapter for the 2006 Northeast Regional Convention patch and Handout Booklet. If anyone is in the Chapter here, please contact me by Email. I was asked to do something for the Chapter about my Grandfather, but do not have contact information, and so do not know where to send it, being my Grandfather just passed. It would be greatly appreciated if someone would get ahold of me by email. Thank you so very much.

Thank you all so very much for serving our country, and for keeping the memory of the segundo alive. My grandfather is Harold "Swede" Schedin. He served as GM3/c from her commissioning to 1949, during WWII. He just recently received his Final Patrol Orders, and passed away on October 19 2008. He now joins his shipmates on eternal patrol. I would like to get in touch with anyone from his patrol days. Please Email me. Thank you.

Greetings,
I just read an article by Commander R. Douglas about the submarine R-14. His father commanded the R-14 soon after WWI. My father served on the R-14. Would appreciate any information about either commander. Am writing a story about my father for his grandchildren.
BTW Then Commander Nimitz hired my father to be tailor on Pearl Harbor.
Thanks

Sorry to hear about the passing of Clair. He used to bounce me on his knee as a child. My parents and Clair and shirley owned a restaurant together. He will be misssed and not forgotten. Shirley- my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
LOve, Kathy Willis (Wilson)

I recently switched computers. When I did, I lost 27 entries to the Deck Log. I've added them below, but they're not in chronological order. Please feel free to sign the log.
